LIVIN is a not-for-profit organisation that was established to combat the stigma attached to mental illness and raise awareness for suicide prevention. Using social media, fashion and high profile entities to target the core demographic to begin discussion, create greater understanding and a more positive interpretation of mental illness.
For too long mental illness and suicide has been perceived as weakness and LIVIN want to increase the capacity of the community to work together to combat these illnesses. LIVIN want young men and women to know that they are not alone and that ‘it ain’t weak to speak’. LIVIN believe that education about mental health and wellbeing in young people is vital to changing societal perceptions of mental health.
“We can save the lives of individuals, if we change the way society understands, perceives and interprets mental illness.”
Sam Webb, Co founder of Livin
